Taylor Bay

It may be tricky to navigate, but the locals have it correct, the beaches of Chalk Sound are pristine.

I was informed that the tide sweeps into the curve of the bay, thus producing the lack of gradation and the flat base of the sand beneath the water. This is what enables you to walk well into the water before ever finding yourself waist deep. It is very much like a wading pool and therefor very child friendly.

The water is pristine and exceptionally clear. I am standing in ankle deep water in this photo.

To the left, was a house with a little step and a dock that was easy to reach. Look closely, you can see the little fish in a variety of colors that swim around that spot. You hardly need snorkeling gear or an underwater camera to engage with the sea life.
